1 Samuel 16:1-13
Saul, King of Israel, was initially in favour with God, but after disobeying the prophet Samuel’s orders and then God’s orders, he has been rejected by God.
Ephesians 5:8-14
The author has exhorted his readers to conduct themselves ethically as befits those who have adopted the way of Christ. In baptism, they cast aside pagan ways and became members of God’s community.
John 9:1-41
Jesus has said: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” As Isaiah foretold, Jesus gives sight to the blind.
