It is now several centuries since the people of Israel arrived in Egypt during a famine and were welcomed by Joseph. They have grown in numbers, and have probably spread beyond the land of Goshen.
Romans 12:1-8
Paul has concluded the doctrinal section of his letter. He now turns to practical application of the gospel. He first tells us how we are to behave in the Christian community.
Matthew 16:13-20
Jesus has warned his disciples about those who follow the teachings of the religious leaders. While they understand something of the world around them, they do not grasp that he ushers in the time of the Kingdom of God.
