Canon 24 - Clergy Pension PlanSection 4 - Retirement Dates |

4.1 Each Member or Past Member may retire on the first day of the month coincident with or next following the attainment of age 65, (hereinafter being referred to as the Normal Pension Date). Such Members shall receive a pension as calculated in accordance with Section 5.1 or Section 5.2, as the case may be. 4.2 A Member may elect to retire on the first day of any month before the Normal Pension Date, having attained the age of 55 years (hereinafter being referred to as the Early Retirement Date). Such Member shall receive a pension as calculated in accordance with Section 5.3. 4.3 A Disabled Member may, prior to Normal Pension Date, apply for a disability pension. Such Disabled Member shall receive a pension as calculated in accordance with Section 5.4 from the date of approval by the Committee (hereinafter the date being referred to as the Disability Pension Date). 4.4 A Member may postpone retirement beyond the Normal Pension Date, provided however that, for the purposes of the Plan, the Member shall not retire later than the first of the month prior to attainment of age 71. Such Member shall receive a pension as calculated in accordance with Section 5.7.
